The Isle of Man is a self-governing British Crown Dependency in the Irish Sea between Great Britain and Ireland that has been inhabited for over eight and a half thousand years. The Island is home to the world’s oldest continuous Parliament – in existence for over a thousand years and one of the world’s first national legislative body’s to give women the right to vote in a general election.

Participants will stay in a seafront hotel in the Island’s capital Douglas during the first week with the programme taking place in the Nunnery, an estate outside Douglas named after a religious foundation, and Fort Anne, a majestic building that was previously a hotel and home to the founder of the Royal National Lifeboat Institute, which overlooks Douglas Bay.

Two evening receptions take place during the week where participants will meet prominent people in the Isle of Man Government and business community and a tour of the Island is laid on at the end of the week before participants leave for Oxford.
