Our unique programme takes place over a two-week period in late June and early July, with participants receiving world-class input from leading academics and technical specialists across a range of topics. The programme is unique in that it blends technical skills with critically important leadership development, with a focus on strategy, negotiation, leading teams and organisations, and problem solving. It also focuses on fundamentally important global issues, such as climate change and Fintech.
The programme begins in the Isle of Man and ends with a week of education at the University of Oxford. Our programme director is an Associate Fellow of the world famous Saïd Business School.
During the programme participants work on individual work-based challenges and they are supported as they tackle them, using the new skills that they have acquired. This allows them to make a real difference to their organisation and to their country.
Aside from a wide range of new skills, participants also leave with a greater understanding of themselves as leaders, and of the way that they can help their country to identify and respond to new and emerging global challenges. They learn, too, that professionals in small countries right around the globe share similar threats and opportunities, and they join a special network in our alumni network. The support and encouragement of their peers has allowed many members of the network to advance to the most senior posts in their country.
Our programme is truly transformative, and it shows the strength that lies in bringing together people from small countries. The work of the Small Countries Financial Management Centre and of our annual programme truly make a difference.
